Fri, 27 April 2007 I thought that this merited a blog post seeing as I plan on attending the nearest Serenity showing. I highly recommend you all check out your local screening. It's a great film, and a worthy cause.Check it out "Global Sci-Fi Charity Event Returns in June 2007: Screenings of 'Serenity' Benefit Women's Rights Advocacy Group Fans of the Joss Whedon film "Serenity" set plans to hold benefits for the women's rights advocacy group Equality Now. Dallas, TX (PRWEB) January 15, 2007 -- Science fiction fans are notorious for their passion for their favorite film or television series, launching massive letter writing campaigns to save their show, or attending conventions dressed as their favorite character. Fans of "Serenity" and "Firefly" are working to convert that passion into positive global change with a series of charity events. In 2006, organizers answered the call to hold "Can't Stop The Serenity" events in 47 cities around the world, raising over $65,000 for the women's rights advocacy group Equality Now by holding screenings of the Joss Whedon film "Serenity." Wed, 11 April 2007 Hello to all our listeners/readers out there. I've taken a break from my weeklong bout of the flu/hangover to give you an update on what's going on around here. First off, the next podcast episode is going to be delayed a week until the 22nd. Due to the aforementioned flu and hangover, as well as technical difficulties, work and assorted other events we have been unable to get the show recorded. Secondly, my mixer board and microphones are here! yay! so starting with the next episode you should hopefully notice a sizeable step up in production quality. Thirdly, in next weeks show we will be featuring commentary on the house episodes "Top Secret" and "Fetal Position", a brief discussion on the other TV shows on at the moment: Jericho, 24, Drive, etc. And finally I am pleased to announce that George Hrab has given us permission to feature some of his music in our podcast. (Thanks again if you're reading!) Category: general -- posted at: 10:02 AM Comments[0] |
